Ninth earthquake recorded in Rutland

An earthquake with a magnitude of 2.8 has been recorded in a county hit by a series of tremors, the British Geological Survey (BGS) has confirmed.

The epicentre was near the town of Oakham in Rutland, in the East Midlands, at 22:40 BST on Tuesday.

Reg Burrell tweeted that he felt it in Castle Bytham, a village in Lincolnshire.

Campaigners react to Lincolnshire school transport review

School Transport CampaignersCampaigners have welcomed a partial review of free school transport in Lincolnshire, but insist the whole policy needs looking at.

A proposal to review the grammar school section of Lincolnshire County Council’s policy came before the authority’s children and young people’s scrutiny committee on Friday last week.
