Anglian Water is advising villagers to boil their tap water and leave it to cool before using it for drinking, cooking, preparing and food and brushing water.

The advice affects villagers in Castle Bytham, Little Bytham, Toft, Witham on the Hill, Carlby, Corby Glen, Grimsthorpe and the surrounding areas.

Changes to mobile Post Office services in Castle Bytham, South Witham, Wymondham, Colsterworth and Corby Glen as new stops added elsewhere

There will be changes to mobile Post Office services at five rural Grantham area sites to accommodate two new services further south.

In order to provide services for Edenham and Carlby, near Stamford, there will be change to services in Castle Bytham, South Witham, Wymondham, Colsterworth and Corby Glen from this week.

Anglian Water apologise to villagers left without water after burst main

Anglian waterAnglian Water have apologised after residents in villages including Carlby, Essendine, Castle Bytham, Ryhall and Swayfield, were left without water earlier today.

Sarah Dobson, Anglian Water spokesperson said: “Our teams were alerted to a burst water main on Borne Road, Carlby on Saturday morning (October 24). They worked quickly to isolate the burst and repair the section of pipe. Customers supplies were restored by 2.15pm.”

Burst main leaves villages without water

Several villages were left without water today (Monday) because of two separate faults.

Residents of Carlby, Essendine, Castle Bytham, Swayfield, Witham-on-the-Hill and surrounding areas with PE9, PE10, NG33 and LE15 postcodes have been affected by the problem, which began at about 11am today (Monday).
