Former quarry at Castle Bytham to become 85 new homes and shop

Layout of Castle Bytham quarry developmentSouth Kesteven District Council’s planning committee have voted in favour of plans to turn a 9.6 hectare former quarry site in Castle Bytham, into 85 homes and a shop.

The Old Quarry off Station Road, went before SKDC’s development control committee on Tuesday. The applicant, pharmaceutical multi-millionaire Dr Dallas Burston, had initially also proposed for the creation of a health centre and care home at the site, but these were later removed in favour of creating more homes.

Hundreds decorate trees at the Spinney in Little Bytham

Bythams SpinneyMore than 400 children and parents turned up for the fourth Tree Dressing Day at the Spinney in Little Bytham.

With the help of Jo Hammond, an environmental artist, children and their parents were able to make decorations which they could then attach to the tree of their choice to help make the Spinney more attractive.

RT HD added to Freeview

RT logoRT HD has launched on Freeview at today on channel 113. For non-HD viewers, the standard definition version of RT continues on channel 135 as normal. In addition to world news and current affairs, the channel also contains a UK opt-out during the evening with hourly news bulletins tailored to UK audiences.

Viewers who already can receive BBC Four HD on channel 106 will be able to get the new RT HD channel. In some instances a retune may be required.
