Major Freeview change to reduce channel line-up

A number of Freeview channels will no longer be available from later this month as a result of changes to the airwaves to make way for future 5G mobile services.

The following list of channels will cease to be available on Freeview on 22nd June 2020.

  • 55 – 5Star+1
  • 56 – 5USA+1
  • 67 – CBS Reality+1
  • 69 – CBS Justice+1
  • 109 – Channel 4+1 HD
  • 110 – 4seven HD
  • 115 – TJC HD

BBC Leicester and Lincolnshire now on Freeview

BBC local radioThe following BBC Local Radio stations can now be found on Freeview/YouView. If you use the Waltham transmitter.

  • 720 – BBC Radio Nottingham
  • 721 – BBC Radio Leicester – added : 06/06/2016
  • 722 – BBC Radio Lincolnshire – added : 06/06/2016
  • 734 – BBC Radio Northampton – added : 06/06/2016
  • 735 – BBC Radio Derby – added : 06/06/2016

Home to join Freeview

UKTV-homeUKTV is taking a fifth channel free-to-air from 1st March, when lifestyle channel Home launches on Freeview.

Home will launch on channel 25, currently used by Dave Ja Vu.

The channel’s programme portfolio includes: My Dream Derelict Home, Escape to the Country, A Place in the Sun: Home Or Away, My Flat-Pack Home featuring Amanda Lamb, Nick Knowles’ Original Features, Make My Home Bigger, Fantasy Homes by the Sea and Kitchen SOS featuring Nadia Sawalha.

RT HD added to Freeview

RT logoRT HD has launched on Freeview at today on channel 113. For non-HD viewers, the standard definition version of RT continues on channel 135 as normal. In addition to world news and current affairs, the channel also contains a UK opt-out during the evening with hourly news bulletins tailored to UK audiences.

Viewers who already can receive BBC Four HD on channel 106 will be able to get the new RT HD channel. In some instances a retune may be required.
