Pedal power for Sport Relief as relay passes through

A group of walkers were joined by a father and son on penny farthings as they took part in a nationwide relay for charity.

Members of “Team Honk” passed through the Mercury area on Monday during a 3,000-mile relay as they did their bit for Sport Relief.

Sat navs stolen from vans in Little Bytham

Police have appealed for witnesses to two thefts from vans to come forward.

Thieves smashed the windows of two vehicles in Station Road, Little Bytham, and stole sat navs and mobile phone holders on Wednesday night.

Call 101 quoting incident 53 and 107, both of February 6.

Lincolnshire vicar Susan Evans prays for good weather

A Lincolnshire vicar whose church is named after the patron saint of the weather has urged people to pray for a brighter outlook as this January has become the wettest on record for some parts of Britain.

The Reverend Susan Evans, from the Church of St Medard and St Gildard, in Little Bytham in the south of the county, last night led prayed with her flock and reportedly said: “Dear Lord, we’ve had enough.”
