An investigation into how a small plane narrowly avoided two men and then struck a bungalow on a farm in Lincolnshire is continuing.

The crash happened outside Castle Bytham, south of Grantham, on Wednesday afternoon.

Pilot, 73, escapes with cuts and bruises

A 73-year-old man has miraculously escaped with cuts and bruises after his light aircraft crashed through the roof of a bungalow in Lincolnshire.

The pilot of the small aeroplane had to be freed from the wreckage by emergency crews after his aircraft came down on the farm building outside Castle Bytham, south of Grantham, just after 2pm.

Six-year-old twins from Castle Bytham to cycle six miles for charity

Proving that you’re never too young to start fundraising, a pair of six-year-old twins have signed up to take part in a six-mile bike ride at Rutland Water in aid of Diabetes UK.

Ben and Gracie Stevenson from Castle Bytham will be cycling in the charity’s Big Bike Ride on June 29, alongside their mum Julia Miner.

When it goes live later this year, it will be available on Freeview/YouView channel 8.

Post box broken into in Castle Bytham

Police are appealing for witnesses after the post box on the outside of a farm premises in Castle Bytham was forced open, between 8am and 12.30pm on November 27.

Police said it is believed that the offender made at least two visits to the post box during that morning to try and retrieve letters from it.
